We're Open for In-Clinic Appointments

With changes to Directive 2 of Ontario’s Re-opening plan, regulated health professionals can, when all necessary precautions and protocols are in place to protect patients and themselves, gradually and carefully begin providing all services, including non-essential services.

Your safety and health and that of our GRSM staff is of the utmost importance to us.  To operate our clinic as safely as possible, we have put strict processes in place.  Please see processes for individual clinics below.   If you have any concerns, please do not hesitate to ask.

All patients are required to self-screen or will be asked the COVID-19 screening questionnaire when booking and on the DAY OF YOUR APPOINTMENT.

For the safety of our patients and staff, everyone will be asked the following questions when entering the clinics.

  1. Did you travel outside of Canada in the past 14 days?
  2. Did you test positive for COVID-19 or have close contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19 without wearing appropriate PPE?
  3. Do you have any of the following symptoms:
    – Fever
    – New onset of cough
    – Worsening chronic cough
    – Shortness of breath
    – Difficulty breathing
    – Sore throat
    – Difficulty swallowing
    – Decrease or loss of sense of taste or smell
    – Chills
    – Headaches
    – Unexplained fatigue/malaise/muscle aches (myalgias)
    – Nausea/vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain
    – Pink eye (conjunctivitis)
    – Runny nose or nasal congestion without other known cause
  4. **If the patient is over 70** Are they experiencing any of the following symptoms?
    – Delirium
    – Acute functional decline
    – Unexplained or increased number of falls
    – Worsening of chronic conditions

You understand the COVID-19 virus has a long incubation period during which carriers of the virus may not show symptoms and still be contagious. You also understand that although GRSM has put strict procedures in place to reduce the potential transmission of the COVID-19 virus, there are inherent risks in choosing to enter the clinic.

  • Please maintain a physical distance of 2 meters (6 feet) at all times when possible in the clinic and when entering and exiting the clinic.
  • All patients and staff must wear a mask.  If you don’t have a mask, one will be provided. 
  • You will be asked the Ministry of Health’s COVID-19 screening questionnaire before you enter the building. 
  • Please use the hand sanitizer provided when you enter the building.

Cambridge Process:

  • All patients must wear a mask for any treatment that requires the clinician to be within 6 feet of you. If you have a mask and would prefer to wear your own, please bring it with you. If you do not have a mask, one will be provided. Your clinician will also be wearing a mask.
  • Whenever possible, please come to your appointment in the clothes you will be treated in. This will limit the use of our communal change room/washroom.
  • The washroom will be disinfected regularly throughout the day.
  • Please arrive 10 minutes early for your scheduled appointment. When you arrive in the parking lot, call the front desk to let them know you have arrived (519-622-0870). If you don’t have a cell phone, please go to the back door of the clinic and ring the doorbell – a GRSM staff member will be with you shortly.
  • You will be asked the Ministry of Health’s COVID-19 screening questionnaire before you enter the building. If you check positive on any questions, we will delay your appointment until you answer negative to this questionnaire.
  • Before your appointment, a GRSM staff member will meet you at the back door. Please do not enter the building unless advised by a GRSM staff member.
  • Unless it is a safety issue, we are asking that you please come alone into the clinic for the scheduled appointment.
  • All patients are to enter the building via the back door and exit through the front door to maintain physical distancing.
  • Please use the hand sanitizer provided when you enter the building.
  • Please follow the arrows indicating the direction of movement throughout the clinic. A GRSM staff member will direct you to your treatment area.
  • The treatment room or area will be properly disinfected before you arrive. Each clinician will have their own large space to work in which will easily accommodate physical distancing.
  • When your appointment is finished, a GRSM staff member will accompany you to the front desk for payment/scheduling of future appointments. You will exit through the front door.
  • Due to the government limitation on the number of people in a facility at one time, assessments and treatments will run on time (all appointments will be either 30 or 60 minutes in length). If you are late for your appointment, we will not be able to extend the length of the appointment to compensate.
  • At this time, we will not have Physiotherapy Assistants working in the physiotherapy area due to government restrictions on the number of people in the clinic at one time. As a result, if you require modalities such as: IFC, ultrasound, taping, exercises, acupuncture, heat/ice etc., it will need to be completed within the treatment session you have booked with your clinician.

Process for GRSM Kitchener-South Location:

  • You must wear a mask for any treatment that requires the clinician to be within 6 feet of you. If you have a mask and would prefer to wear your own, please bring it with you. If you don’t have a mask, one will be provided. Your clinician will also be wearing a mask.

  • When possible, please wear the clothes you plan to be treated in which will limit the use of our communal change room/washroom.

  • The washroom will be disinfected after every use.
    Please arrive 10 minutes early for your scheduled appointment. When you arrive in the parking lot, call the front desk and let them know you have arrived (519-571-8404). If you don’t have a cell phone, please go to the front door of the clinic – a GRSM staff member will be with you shortly.

  • Before your appointment, a GRSM staff member will meet you at the front door. Please do not enter the building unless advised by a GRSM staff member.

  • You will be asked the Ministry of Health’s COVID-19 screening questionnaire before you enter the building. If you check positive on any questions, we will delay your appointment until you are able to answer negative to the screening questionnaire.

  • Please come to your appointment in clothes you are comfortable being treated in or that require an easy change. We would like to limit the use of the change room.

  • When you arrive in the parking lot, please call the front desk and let them know you have arrived (519-804-9164). Instructions regarding when to enter the building will be provided at this time.

  • If you do not have a cell phone, please call the clinic before you leave your home to let us know your anticipated arrival time. When you do arrive, please come directly to the clinic. Please arrive 10 minutes early for your scheduled appointment.

  • You will be asked the Ministry of Health’s COVID-19 screening questionnaire before you enter the building. If you check positive on any of these questions, we will have to delay your appointment until you answer negative to the screening questionnaire.

  • Please use the hand sanitizer provided when you enter the building.

SPORTS MEDICINE

Physicians at GRSM specialize in sports medicine and are certified with the Canadian Academy of Sport Medicine (CASM) . Our physicians provide expert medical care for both high performance athletes, recreational athletes and active individuals.

Active Release Therapy is a patented, state-of-the-art massage technique. The technique is soft tissue system/movement-based and treats problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and nerves.

Our Registered Massage Therapists use preventative and restorative therapies to help you maintain, rehabilitate and improve physical function or relieve your pain.

Our Certified Athletic Therapists use a full range of treatments to rehabilitate, prevent injury and help you return safely to your sports and other activities.
