Education & Academics

At GRSM, we are committed to mentoring students at the community college, university, and post-graduate levels.  All health care professionals and front desk staff support this commitment by volunteering their time and expertise to supervise students from a number of schools – local and abroad.

At the university level, GRSM mentors Physiotherapy students from Western and McMaster. 

Family Medicine Residents from McMaster and Western are also mentored through GRSM, as well as Sports Medicine Fellows from McMaster.

Teaching Affiliation to Higher Learning Centres

Several Associates at GRSM have affiliations/teaching positions with other academic institutions.

• Dr. Trevor Hall – Dr. Hall is an Assistant Clinical Professor with the Department of Family Medicine and the DeGroote School of Medicine at McMaster University.  Dr. Hall’s current academic and clinical teaching includes Sports Medicine Fellows (PGY-3 Residents), Family Medicine Residents and Medical Students.   In addition, Dr. Hall presents seminars and workshops to community physicians on various sports medicine topics.
• Dr. Laura Purcell – Dr. Purcell is Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at McMaster University. Dr. Purcell enjoys teaching fellows, residents and medical students. She also presents talks for community groups and medical conferences.
