![]() John Carson, BSc, RMT - Registered Massage Therapist (Cambridge)
John has been a massage therapist since 1998. As a runner and multi-sport enthusiast (two time Hawaii Ironman competitor), he appreciates the mental and physical challenges that many athletes face as they train and recover from injuries. John has a special interest in running-based injuries and works together with other GRSM staff to provide the best possible client care. John's other interest include coaching, staging community events and visiting Africa's rift valley. John lives in Cambridge with his wife Leslie, their three children and three dogs!
Shannon is a graduate from the University of Guelph (1997) and the Athletic Therapy Program at Sheridan College (2001). As a Certified Athletic Therapist, she has provided medical coverage for sports teams within the community. She is also part of the GRSM team providing coverage for the Classic Mile and the Run for the Toad. Melynda Dixon, RMT - Registered Massage Therapist (Kitchener) Melynda began practicing Massage Therapy in 2005 after she graduated from the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy. Melynda joined the team at Grand River Sports Medicine in 2007 and began studying at the Canadian College of Osteopathy in Toronto and is currently finishing her third of five years. Melynda now practices Massage Therapy with Osteopathic techniques. In her spare time, Melynda enjoys reading, travelling and the great outdoors.
James graduated from the Massage Therapy program at Medix College in March 2008, and has been practicing as a registered Massage Therapist since. His focus on sports injuries has allowed him to treat athletes of all levels, participating in sports ranging from hockey to track and field, with a particular interest in extreme sports enthusiasts. In his spare time, James enjoys mountain biking, weight lifting, rock climbing and learning to snowboard.
Julie graduated from the Canadian College of Massage and Hydroherapy in 1993 in Sutton Ontario. Over the years, she has worked in a clinic setting treating a variety of conditions and sports injuries. She has worked with the Wilfred Laurier Golden Hawks Men's Basketball team, Kitchener Rangers hockey players, olympic sailing, marathon runners and Dalhousie varsity swimmers. Julie is a sports enthusiast herself, competing in running, triathlons and competative swimming.
